In general, I am all for them teaching alternate and mental math techniques... but... come on. Saying that they don't need to know how to do it because they can use a calculator? They are the ones probably spending 5 minutes figuring out the tip.... And wtf was that cluster "technique" anyways?
Damn! WTF? I was never great at math, and I know I would have been alot worse if I'd had those confusing math clusters being shoved down my throat. Damn!
and now i understand why i don't understand. i wonder if they've heard the expression "if it ain't broke don't fix it"?
