2005 JavaOne conference - The Future of Java Technology

I love this quote...

"Futurist Paul Saffo expressed a fear: 'I think Google has way too much money -- they have indexed cyberspace. Where will they get more money? By indexing the physical world. I have a nightmare in which I'm working at home and hear the dog door swish and realize the dog isn't here. Then I see that a robot is taking pictures of my home office and I ask, 'Who are you?' It says, 'I'm Google.' So all the content of my home will be on the web, but at least I'll know where to find my car keys. I think the future lies in weird stuff that's at the edge. Within three years, 12-year-old boys will buy the plane you demo'd this morning for 99 bucks.'"
