Ok, ok... so I went a little overboard with the quizzes tonight... but.. I am so used to seeing everyone doing them, just had to do a few... I mean, what would a blog be without some short automated test trying to psychoanalyze you...
I'll stop now... at least for tonight.

We must become the change we want to see in the world. -- Mohandas Gandhi.
If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. -- Thomas Jefferson
I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success...
such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.

Which Chaos God should you align with?
Slaanesh
Slaanesh, The dark prince of chaos, The lord of pleasure. Slaanesh is the youngest of the four greater Chaos gods and the most worshipped. Not because he is more powerful, but because his champions turn greatly attractive to all. Every sensation, pain or pleasure, is met with ecstatic screams. All who have hidden vices atre giving this god power, as are those who defy the order of the world. I follow this god, and he has been kind. TRy worship, it's fantastic.

incompatible quizzes?
I don't know what is going on... tried to post the results from some quiz here, but all that showed up was the title... I assume it was incompatible CSS markups, but... I don't have the energy or interest to try to track it down right now.
When it rains, it pours...
Well, it has been an interesting week.
Let's look at the week in review. At the beginning of this week, we were really worried we were going to loose our house. I had been unemployed since December, and my unemployment had ran out. We ended up borrowing some money from a couple friends so that we could pay June's mortgage...
Monday, I got a call from Robert Half (about 4:30pm), asking if I was interested in a 1-month contract in Camas, WA. Although it is much further way than I had been hoping for, I was starting to get a bit desperate. I told them I was interested, and they said I would need to do a phone interview with HR, then an in-person interview with the hiring manager. They called the hiring manager, and he didn't want to wait for HR to show up the next morning, and scheduled me to do the in-person interview 9am TUE.
So, Tuesday, I went in for my interview. As soon as I got back to my car, I called my recruiter, and the hiring manager had already called them asking when I was available. Before I left Camas, I was told that I would start 9am WED.
Wednesday, I started the new position. Had 4 different meetings (things like signing the NDA, safety protocols, etc) and installed all the apps I needed to work. I also got a phone call from Nike (not a recruiter) asking me if I could do a 20-minute phone interview for an Senior Applications Developer position. I told him that I was on a 1-month contract, and he said he would call me when I got home. He didn't. I called and left a message for him, but who knows.
Thursday, I went in to work and spent most of the day trying to get the wireless network working at an acceptable speed. It would connect and talk, but too slow to debug anything.
Friday, spent some more time on the wireless, and temporarily switched to a laptop around 4pm that was able to talk at full speed. Also got a call from another recruiter whom I have been in touch with for about a year, about some JSP position.
In theory, I should get my first paycheck (for 25.5 hours) on Tuesday or so -- so still not getting caught up on bills quite yet... however, you can see from the above why I have not been posting on here much this week. Especially since a couple apps I am running seem to have a memory leak and almost lock up my home computer until I remember to kill [end-task since it won't exit anymore] and restart the given app...
Hopefully, soon, things will get a little more under control, our bills get paid, and have some money to start going out again....

Sharp Correction
I think my previous link might have been the wrong TV. This seems a bit closer. though I think some of the details are incorrect: eHomeUpgrade | AQUOS 45G1 Wi-Fi Enabled HDTV/PVR - April 13, 2004
Also, HR told me today that my actual title is "Senior Software Engineer". Hmmm. "Senior Software Engineer for Sharp R&D Labs" has a nice ring to it, eh?

New Job: Sharp R&D Lab
Those of you who know me know that the last 8 months of so have been kinda stressful, what with being unemployed and all.
Starting tomorrow, I will be doing a month-long contract at Sharp Electronics R&D Lab in Camas, WA. I am technically a "Programmer Analyst" for them, but basically will be helping work out some Java bugs for their new Aquos LCD TV [I think that is the right one]. Probably won't be adding much detail about that position, as I will be signing the NDA tomorrow. Hopefully, all will work out well and they will want me to help on their next project... Personally, I just like having their R&D Lab on my resume [TBD], I think it looks good.
Well, Dino is home, so I am going to go spend some time with her.

Ok, ok, so I will blog...
People keep adding me to setup a blog, usually on LiveJournal. I know everyone else uses LiveJournal, but it just isn't fast enough for me.
So, I am setting this up via blogger.com. Whether I keep using it, or publish regularly, who knows. We shall see.
